WATER FROM CATCHMENT TO COAST
LEARN ABOUT WHY OUR CATCHMENTS ARE PROTECTED
Program includes:
- Explore the walk along the Upper Yarra Dam wall and the Fern Gully walk.
- Immerse students in the history of the Upper Yarra Dam at our Environment Discovery Centre which provides a rich history of how the dam was built and what an important role it plays in providing Melbourne's drinking water supply
- Understand the destruction that major bushfires cause to the Water Catchments including the impact of the Ash Wednesday Bushfire of 1983 which destroyed 40,000 hectares.
- Water quality-water testing and inverterbrate ID
